DescripciĆ³n

In most buildings considered as architectural monuments, it has been used stone, wood, brick and mortar as construction materials. The weather affects in an inexorable way causing aging, alteration and degradation of the nature of the materials, and therefore their aesthetic appearance. The definition, the inventory and mapping of materials and alterations are essential in suggesting the different stages to be addressed in the works of conservation and restoration. The analysis of visible, IR or thermal imagery makes it possible the material classification, identification of damaged areas, humidity, leaks and heat losses, the characterization of hidden architectural features, peel off, etc. This technique allows an analysis of the pathologies in a non-intrusive way, as the monument in question remains unchanged, preserving in this way its conservation status.
